A soviet

The cold war was started because of the AMERICANS. We were building nuclear weapons and supplies to protect us just in case we needed them. Tall had to go stick yalls noses somewhere it didn't belong. Yall thought that we were going to blow yall off the face of the earth which we wasn't (cough, cough). We would have stopped the bomb building if yall wouldn't have started but yall didn't. We had to be on alert for about 50 years because of this crazy thing that yall started. Next time maybe yall Americans can mind yalls on business.

(This is not my real view on America, it is just my pretend view for this assignment)

New Deal

The New Deal for an African American male wouldn't have really help them. They weren't givin anymore rights or anything similar. They couldn't afford nothing before or after for the most part so it didn't really help them. The program allowed share cropping which was terrible for them/ They counldn't ever get out of debt.

WWI Propaganda

This poster is one from today telling people that they need to carpool if they drive an SUV to help safe the environment.

This propaganda poster is saying that it is up to the people whether the US wins or loses.

This picture is also trying to get people to get war liberty bonds to help fund the war and also make them money.

This poster is trying to persuade people to join the war by telling them that they are absent from the war.

This propaganda poster is trying to get people of all ages to buy war stamps to help pay for the war. But they will get more back in return.

Progressive movement

Prohibition was something that was tried to be stopped during the progressive movement. Many people didn't like the fact the alcohol was legal in the US. Before the movement, there was a prohibition to try to stop this. Many people still made alcohol illegally and they caused even more problems over it. The US decided to legalize alcohol in the early 1900's to stop the problems. This is when the 18th amendment was put into place.

Brattonsville Reenactment - 10/19/08

I attended that Brattonsville reenactment on October 19, 2008. I was more interesting than I thought it would have been. I got there a little late and the battle had already started. The conferderates won the battle. After it was done, all of the actors fired a shot in the air to honor the people who died in the real war. Then they fired three caps off to make sure the chambers were clear. As I was walking back leaving, there was a little tent off to the side. It was the medical tent where they were re attaching some's finger which was "severed" during the battle. The cannons which were fired off randomly was interesting. When the cannons were shot none of the men would fall dead. So it was off a little.

Why reconstruction was a faliure...

Even though reconstruction was successful after the Civil War, it was still a failure. There is a huge reason to why it was a failure. The Union and the states all worked hard together to form what they had. Both sides tried to do things to help each other before the war. Even though these changes were tried it lead to the war. After the war, the south was destroyed in some locations. The Union allowed the south to rejoin the states I basically because they felt sorry for them. Once they rejoined, the north helped re-build the south. The rebuilding of the south by the north was the failure. The south started the war because Lincoln became president. They lost and destroyed there on cities. They should have rebuild them by themselves since they startes all of it.

Missouri Compromise

The Missouri Compromise was a Line that was put in place to help decide whether the new territory will be a slave state or a free state. To make this easier the Missouri Compromise was placed. The line was the 36 degree 30'. Any thing north of this line was a free state and anything below it became a free state. The south wasn't to found of this because they the states would not be equal.
